Forum: prelinger Subject: where to get better quality

ok, sorry for the ignorance, I am new here.
say you need some footage for a documentary (tv maybe theatrical). The webquality offered on these pages are not enough - where can you get dv or digi-beta copies of the films? What does the loc have - what does getty sell, what is royality free, where do you have to pay?

a lot of the prelinger material is going to be too poor quality/too low resolution originally to be suitable for putting in dv or the like...

you could take the 'edit' version and transfer it to dv format yourself I guess...
